Did you read the job description when you applied for the job? it's MAS (who have Citation Bravo and Excel aircraft- they don't have permanant cabin crew on just occassionally when the client/broker requests) and being rebranded into Bluestream when they acquire their 4 x CL604's!
The head of cabin service is an ex-Britsh Airways CSD - how much experience does she have in Corporate/Executive VVIP aviation in a single cabin crew operation? and they've recruited a bunch of ex-BA cabin crew so there's just a couple of spaces left for the 15 days on 15 days off rotation. The flight crew have come from Global Jet and Twinjet.
If you've been invited to interview/meeting good luck.
You won't find any other crew who can tell you about the conditions because basically the Company isn't up and fully running as Bluestream yet - training must be starting soon as it all kicks off Jan08

indeed the flight crew have come from all over the place and the 5 f/a's recruited so far came from BA so that makes 3 spaces left! 2 per aircraft for the 15 day on/off rotations

So let me see if I got this right, people are leaving Twinjet to go to an outfit that dont actually have any airplanes yet?..
What gives?
Can somebody PM the lowdown on this as I am currently looking at new job offers as a 604 driver.

Is it not better to be moving jobs than looking at jobs?

Regarding 18k a year for F/A , I think they will be serving Big Macs and Coke, now theres a thought...Good Luck...

Hold on a minute, a permanent contract 15 days on 15 days off (isn't that almost part time work !!) at 18k with Flight Pay.

I'm not sure just how bad that is.

Well it couldnt be that bad, I hear they had over 500 applications !!!

thats 500 applicants for a part time job then??? Must be a ex-nigellas looking to top up their prep-nuptias...

Of course. How stupid of me.

Here I am taking a full salary for a part-time job. I'd better give half my wages back to the company

I've told my wife to pay back 2/7 of her salary to her boss - she only works Monday to Friday - Slacker!

£18k - we're talking CC salaries here, right?

Flintstone
13th Dec 2007, 20:51
Yep, CC.

In my experience £18,000 is less than half the going rate.

:);) So funny... Actually in any kind of jobs, I don't know many for work full time (28 days to 31 days a month, 12 months of the year).
Seriously though, do you really mean that ? :ok:

For a full time VIP ops, 18ks is on the low side. Unlike in most airlines, VIP CCs are true company representatives and will spend more time than anyone else looking after the customer.
Clients get to really appreciate their services, often request particular ones they trust and surely, enjoy continuity. Definitely a crew member you should look after...

OK, so slightly tongue in cheek.

It doesnt get away from the fact that for the two or three disgruntled voices on this forum, there are hundreds who will accept those terms and conditions.

I'm not sure anyone could say that BlueStream pay below industry salaries, just ask one of their Captains !!

:ok:

Oh, I know their pilot salaries are in the right area. After all, they offered me a job.

£18,000 for a corporate FA though? Way, way off what an experienced VIP CC should be paid. Sure there are 500 applicants but I'd be very surprised if many of those were experienced in this line of work. No disrespect to the applicants but that's Ryanair/easyJet territory.

Yes true there are hundreds who will apply....however you "Pay peanuts you get..... Monkeys" ....dont recall ever meeting monkeys who could speak Russian!!!!:rolleyes:

Monkeys? Who mentioned monkeys?

Always remember. There is no situation that canot be improved by the addition of monkeys, ninjas or dwarves.

I think dwarves are even cheaper than monkeys, about £16,000 a year.

And farts.

Farts are always funny. Especially from dwarves.

Hi there

I have accepted a role as cabin crew with BlueStream commencing 1st Feb. I am rather excited despite the negativity on the forum. I do not usually use forums but I am desperate to find more about working for them and as I am 1 of the first 5 crew its proving quite hard.
What are they like to work for? I am expecting teething problems as we are the first cabin crew I am led to believe. Also the salary is ok given that its only 15 days a month. But is there flight pay on top of that? In the advert it says expenses which is a broad term. I would appreciate any information.
Thank you.
Ps Im not ex BA x:)

Hi Gaynor

Congratulations on the new job! Although you're not ex-BA I'm guessing you're ex-airline and seem to have identified one of the biggest differences already in that you're usually on your own in terms of on board service. Some people prefer it and some don't.

Don't be put off by the "negativity"*. It's purely that the advertised salary is very low by comparison with other companies (unless it's topped up in some way). You ask if there's any flight pay and I don't mean to be rude but was that not covered in the interview? Per diems in this part of the industry are typically paid on top of any salary, range from £45 to £100 per day and are not taxable. Any expenses incurred in the course of your duties should of course be refundable or the norm would be to have a company credit card.

Good luck. Hope the new job goes well.

(*I have no problem with Bluestream. Nice chaps when I met them, they just couldn't afford me.)

18k per year thats the per diems right lol.

Dont think any qualified vip cabin crew would of taken that offer, maybe laughted at it.
