With the opportunity to move to Oz sometime next year, I'm thinking about the flying opportunities and wondered if there is an equivalent to NavBox (http://www.navbox.nl/) or other flight planning software for Australia.

Thanks.

Command Flight Planner from Command Software is a great little package, it also does IFR flight plans!

BCFC and knox,

Command is a good program, so is Jeppesen Flightstar.

There is however a very good alternative, Champagne PC Services' Flight Planner 3000.

FP3000 has the most user friendly interface, if you need to knock up a plan in a hurry and lodge it electronically, FP3000 has a slight edge.

Command gives a better quality printout, but FP3000 has some excellent bonus features,

such as being able to load a registered version on a USB Flash Drive and use it anywhere there's a computer, handy if you don't have your laptop with you.

If you have a Palm based PDA or Palm smartphone, you can transfer most of FP3000's flight plans and aircraft database to the Palm based device,

coupled with "Co Pilot" Palm PDA software on your PDA / smartphone.

You can download trial versions of both Command and FP3000 from their websites.

for FP3000 try http://www.champagnepcservices.com.au

and Knox, Champagne / FP3000 has an EnZed option.

I've used both, primarily FP2000 /3000 over the last 15 years and it is my preference because of the simpler and friendlier user interface.

If you want higher quality printouts, try Command.
