Hate to disappoint you Sweety, but BA are in deep poo. There will be a big announcement on the 4th Feb and I think they will be laying off people. I hope this is not the case just passing on what i have heard.

Sweety - sorry to have to agree, but it's true - BA were told to try and lose 2300 cabin crew in October, some of whom have taken a career break or voluntary severance. It does look as if this is the tip of the iceberg - I also lot my job at BA after 5 years Dispatching (base closed). Practically the whole BFS cabin crew base (approx 50 I think) was redeployed into the various fleets at LHR, which won't have helped. I'm off to EZY. Hope you find something just as good as BA!

A friend of mine based in LGW was told this base is going to be "terminated" very soon. I hope that if the rumor is true, they will be able to save the jobs.

Ok. I got it... No chance whatsoever. Very sad.

My next favourite is Virgin Atlantic. But I guess no chances there either.

OK, I'll have to go somewhere else then, I miss flying so much.

Just do not want to work for a lowcost airline. Have done some stuff for them did not like it!

Oh, well. Let's see what happens.

Good luck everybody who is in my position...

Sweetie

I may have some good news for you. I work for Virgin Atlantic and the rumour is that they may be recruiting for two courses which are due to start in June.... I will keep you informed.

Bye for now

Check out aviationjobsearch.com there are loads of jobs on there. Also flyastraeus.com and britanniaairways.com are recruiting, neither of those are low cost. If you're interested in Manchester mail Xenia about Azzurra.

As Lee said above, Virgin Atlantic are talking about recruiting again. I've heard anytime between Easter and June. Priority will be given to people who were made redundant and existing crew who are currently job sharing.

Britannia and easyjet are recruiting at the moment.

Good Luck

You might also want to try Monarch. They are currently recruiting for their gatwick base, and it is likely that they will be recruiting for other bases around the UK prior to the summer season.

You may also be interested to know that although other airlines have announced reduction in their flying programs (in some cases a 45% reduction), monarch have have managed to survive very well with only a 10% reduction in their whole flying program.. so things are looking fairly good for them at the moment.
