I'd been hearing rumours for sometime but couldn't believe my eyes when I received the letter for voluntary redundancy.

I'm just a little bit excited but have so many questions.

How many cabin crew do they need to go?
When do they want them out by?
Who do I go to to work out the package?
What does the union think about this?
If they won't tell you exactly what you can expect in the package can you change your mind if you don't like it when they offer it?
What does everyone else think of this?
Do you think it is to trim the dead wood (so to speak) or do they really have an abundant supply of Long Haul crew?
How many people do you think will put their hands up for it?

Any insight from anyone will be greatly appreciated as I am currnetly on leave and feeling a little out of the loop.

:) :) :)

It appears that heaps of the Long Haulers have received redundancy notices, haven't heard any cases of short haul yet ?

QF sent out approx 4000 VR letters a couple of weeks ago, apparently HR is snowed under with phone calls from the crew receiving the letters.

Don't think short haul crew will have the oppurtunity for VR as they are very short of crew.

VR is not being offered to Short Haul, only to areas where there is excess staff. Rumour has it approx 450 VR slots.
