Pre-Flight Safety Briefings

I flew Stansted to Salzburg last week and was very pleased when cabin crew interrupted their safety brief to stop one passneger talking and another from reading. It was done politely and firmly - top marks to the crew concerned.

Since starting to read PPrune, I've started not only obviously paying attention (previously I just sort of 'listened along') to the safety briefing, but counting the seatrows to the nearest exit and checking that the lifejacket is present. Also making sure that the seatbelt can be seen to be fastened when CC are checking.

Maybe PPrune safety advice should be made more available.........

Nearly 20 years ago, I read in Flight that there are about 60 injuries a year on the north Atlantic routes that are caused by CAT. Ever since, I've always kept the seatbelt fastened when seated. I'm sure more explanation would get SLF to do what is wanted - even some of the more arrogant suits with 2 million miles under their bums!

I now just hope I never need to use any of the advice garnered....
