Alpha Aviation (AAG) plans to start the ATPL ground school this coming April and the actual flight training towards the end of the year. The aircrafts have not been decided upon yet...the sims, afcourse will be A320 based.

They are looking for around 20 flight Instructors...it seems like a decent package is being formulated for them.

Its a great step for ABY and AAG, especially for the countless 'wannabe' pilots shopping around for flight schools/academies that may actually help in getting them a job!

Air arabia seems to be adopting a good airline business model;
focused regional network
fleet commonality
first IPO
and now training academy
quite an achievement in a relatively short time.. well done :D

Well done to Air Arabia, good to se a company that looks after more aspects of their business, and also trying to be responsible for getting their own pilots through the system.
Only thing I wonder about is where are they going to fly to get their training done? The UAE is quickly running out of airspace, and military as well as civilian training flights are being turned away by most units on a daily basis already, and it is only going to get more and more busy at all units.
Horizon in Al Ain have stardet to receive their Diamonds, Fujairah has a few more Diamonds on order as far as I know, and the forst two (of many) Sirrus 22's have arrived in Ras Al Khaimah...

'low cost training acadimy?'

wastafarian...looks like you went to a low cost elementary school as well!!

The AAG flight training will be out of SHJ...and yes there is an issue with air 'space'. It will have to do for the time being.

DA40/42s are n't doing so well around these parts...can't handle the high ambient temp's, so I hear. Fujairahs fleet has been grounded a number of times. It could be the delicate electronics that are used on these aeroplanes.

The 22s look really good, inside and out. looked like 2 Garmin(?) screens with side sticks...not bad for airbus hopefuls.
