A Tornado has been in the air over Hay On Wye for most of the day. Relatively high, probably 8-9000ft. Round and round in circles on and off for about four hours. Iam used to seeing them at 400ft. Any idea what in particular it was doing?.

Hay on Wye? Hay on Wye??? What was he doing there? He was supposed to be much nearer Shobdon* to show our miserable new neighbour how lucky he is to have moved to an area where only little aircraft fly and not somewhere noisier. :E :E :E
*(Oh if only! Anyone like the coordinates? :E The rather grumpy new neighbour has only recently moved in and claims he didn't know the airfield was there!) :(

Trying to find SJ 328150 and failing miserably, like every other military aircraft (see about 94 previous threads).

It's at N52°43’42” W002°59’48” (52.72842N 2.99677W) or UTM 30U 500225 5842050 or IO82MR. Not all that far from the Mach Loop (hint).

Sounds like a spot of CAS to me.
Now who lives near there that would be doing CAS?!

Ah, but I wasn't actually there to witness the alleged photography at the time. Those pictures could have been taken from a civilian aircraft for all I know :E
