comparison Bose X with Bose QC2+ Uflymike adaptator

Just discovered this option while I was searching for Bose's X best price...

What do you know and think of it ?
Is it worth going with an independant (battery pack) alimentation.

What about the mike perfs ? (think that the earphones must present same quality than Bose X because of using same technology)

What about some specific devices of the X (e.g. auto ENR shut off to save batteries when no use,...) are they available with the Uflymike option ?

We use the Bose QC2 with the mike you mentioned on our Citation II and it works quite well. The noise level, especially when using bleed air in descent to warm hot areas is quite high and the Bose QC2 handles it very well.

I have both headsets, but am not familiar with the Uflymike adapter. The Bose X gives slightly more passive noise reduction through the more padded ear seals. This provides some improvement in total noise reduction, particularly if you are wearing glasses which would be more likely to break the seal on the QC2.

The other factor is the batteries will not last as long on the QC2, particularly in a high noise environment.

If I was buying it all again, I'd do the same thing. The X is a great aviation headset and the QC2 is a great music headset.
