Afternoon,

My wife and I are off on a little weekend trip to Vienna on 3 August and I was just a' wonderin' what a/c BA used on that flight? Because it's our 10th anniversary (of when we met, not of when we got married :cool :) we've decided to stump up for Club Class and I was hoping someone might tell me where the best seats were....? :D

Yours looking forward to not being in cattle class for once,
LB.

You had better go club class as economy is ***** unless go long haul. My ex boy freind works on BA short haul and says there is a big difference between buisness and economy on long hual only. Is the same at Midland. Treat her and pay that little bit extra, its worth it.midland is good when thry make the efort! Go out of EMA! :)

Lawyerboy,

Don't give us too much information now will you, like departure airport or flight number!

I see you are from London though, so I'll assume LHR, and as for flight numbers well I've checked for you:

On Friday 3rd August there are 4 LHR-VIE BA flights.

07:35 BA0696 is an A320

09:40 BA0700 is a B737

15:05 BA0704 is an A319

08:20 BA0706 is a B757

Have a great time!

Much obliged to you FJW, but I did at least tell you which airport I was flying from - I draw the honourable gentleman's attention to the title of this 'ere thread, being as it is "BA LHR to Vienna Friday 3 August"... ;)

I've no idea of the flight number (I didn't book it), but I think the flight leaves at about 09:40, so that would be a B737, then. Any idea what the layout is in Club? 2-2 by any chance?

Lawyerboy,

I stand corrected! Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Although I don't spend much time on the BA 737's, I believe Club Europe is still a 3-3 seating layout, with the middle seat unoccupied where possible. This is the case on the A320.

Regards,

FJW.

I'm not so sure about that 3-3 layout on BA 737s;I was pretty sure they have the same layout in Club Europe as the LHR A320s/A319s have, i.e. seats A and C, aisle then seats DEF, making a 2-3 layout. This is the case on LGW 737s as I recall a colleague mentioning once,so it is probably the case at LHR too. Thus you should get yourself sat in A and C, the missing B seat is narrowed and becomes a handy storage space. The seats are actually no bigger than the DEF ones but you feel less crowded. Enjoy Lawyerboy!

The LHR-VIE-LHR can be operated by Airbus 319/320 737 and 757.

Its more than likely to be an Airbus/737 but if you ring BA res they should be able to tell you.

All Club seating on all Airbus and 737 757 aircraft are the same config. 2+3. A C then D E F. A and F being the window seats.
Best seats on the left side A C. Believe you can pre book your seats via Res.

Have a good flight and enjoy your weekend. VIE is a lovely city.
:)

Tnank you, euroboy. I was too late, it seems, to pre-book seats on the way out on Friday (only one left, I was told) but have heeded good advice and booked seats 7A and 7C on the way back on Sunday (BA0705, 19:10 from Vienna).

Just wondered whether any fellow Ppruners might be working that flight and, if so, feel free to come and say hello :D !

Yours gratefully,
Mr (and Mrs) LB.
