John Ryan Memorial Service

A memorial service for the late John Ryan will be held at the National Jet Systems Hangar at Cairns Airport (GA Side) on Tuesday the 13th of November 2007. The service will commence approximately 1530 and will be followed by light refreshments (especially Bundaberg Rum and Coke as per John's wishes).

All who wish to attend and celebrate his life are most welcome. If you could advise of your intention by email it would be greatly appreciated.

I worked with john in Brisbane a decade ago.
The guy was a true professional.
I heard his girl friend nursed him to the end.
As somebody said in Brissie the other day we train hard together to achieve our aviation goal and then split up and travel to the end of the EARTH to find work and when something like this happens we are miles away to help each other.

Yesterday the memorial service for John Ryan was held in Cairns.

The event was well-attended (>100 people) and run in the spirit deserving of such a great man. The celebration ended with a toast of Bundy and Coke around a bar with a large photo of JR.

Thanks to those who came from near and far to join in the day. Special thanks to those who took part - JR would be grateful for your heartfelt words and thoughts (also to those who sent their messages and wishes from afar).
