I was listening (via internet) to the latest edition of the BBC's "Making History".
The first "article" was on an early woman pilot, Winifred Spooner.

I must confess that I had not heard of her (my ignorance i beleive). Does anyone know more about her?
I ask as PPRuNe'rs are a mine of aviation history.
