has anyone heard the rumours about qantas starting up a low cost subsidiary, possibly alongside the impulse/qantaslink operations? ive heard that they are getting new A330's in the near future and that the older B767's will operate on these revamped routes, mainly to asia. is there any truth to these rumours???????

Yes the rumours are true, but it is also
true the Cabin crew will in the main be
sourced from Asia (read Bangkok)with Aussie
pilots. Premeir Beaty has approached QF to
base this new airline in Cairns.

GALLEYGIRL,

Sit tight at QFLINK......rumour has it that the crews for these flights will be from the foreign cities they operate to and the aussie component sourced from QFLINK/AIRCONNEX.

The new airline will have a new " aussie " name and image. ( Greece/Malaysia/Tahiti and secondry ports in Japan will be served according to the proposal )

Have heard most of the crews will be based o/seas, and a handful will be based in Australia.... all on contract from Adecco, as with all other o/seas based crew (ie wont be employees of QF or the new carrier, but of Adecco).

Have also heard Adecco has already started some of the recruitment.

I'd say now that Mr Dixon has officially announced it, the details will start flowing shortly! ;)

 WE could have a low cost airline now if our marketing and management teams were paid what they are worth !!
