WikiWorkRules: The Ultimate List

There are a million ways to withdraw your cooperation. I do not know them all. I know some and between us we can build the ultimate list.:E

CX Shop Steward kicked us off with the following. Please add yours to build our own WikiWorkRules!

Refuse to fly freighter flights. This is important. Management will back away from their ASL/FACA plans at the last moment – rumor is the company is in disarray over this huge legal own goal. If they do back off, freighter flying will still be voluntary.

Do not answer the phone. Don’t help crew control out by giving them a solution to the crewing crisis.

Do not operate into discretion. A captain’s right not to operate into discretion cannot be questioned.

Do not work on a G-day. Even if it is favourable to you.

Do not check Crew Direct or call crew control, except on those occasions you are required to.

Discourage new joiners from joining under the “C-scale” of CoS08. (48K less in USAB.

Discourage new joiners from joining a company where 17 years to Command is probable.

Know your rostering rights/obligationsANO: prohibits a person acting as a crew member if he/she knows or suspects that he/she is suffering from, fatigue as may endanger the safety of the aircraft.

Delayed Reporting Time: Can only be delayed 4 hours – FDP clock then starts.

You should be positioned in 1st/Business as per your contract –DO NOT accept a lower class DO NOT position on the Freighter.

CC must give you twelve hours’ notice before being given the revised start time of the Reserve Duty. (DON’T CONTACT THEM EARLIER, if you can possibly avoid it).

Change of a Duty? May be assigned Reserve Duty. But where the change of a Duty is with less than twelve hours’ notice, the time of start of the Reserve Duty will reflect, as closely as possible, the time of start of the Duty being changed.

A Flight Crew member may be assigned a Duty that starts prior to the start of a Reserve Duty subject to a minimum of twelve hours’ notice being given before the start of the newly assigned Duty.

The Company will notify Flight Crew members in good time of their FDPs so that sufficient and uninterrupted pre-flight rest can be obtained.

“10 Hours in the hotel” rule. Does not apply if rest required >12 hrs.

Physiological Rest requires at least 14 hours and a proper sleep opportunity.

Can only revert to normal rest for major disruption to operations with consequences beyond the capability of the published roster. Permission required.
What have you got :):)

Can we make this a nice plasticised card that fits into our top pocket/wallet like the C-TWOT card? Good for all those crappy times when you could do with a quick review!

First, one must have a backbone. Look around at dispatch, lots of bodies but no backbone. I’m sorry, it’s not going to happen.

If you want proof, go to crew direct, flight crew list, put in the date and then put in a freighter flight number. Look and see where the Captain is based. More that likely HKG. Your true leader.:suspect:

Just looking out for themselves.:D

Latest COS 08 does not affect them, so they are OK.:ooh:

Nobody has the balls to confront crew control on this. It's the parapet thingy again.

Look at the freighter operations, is it ever on time? If the freighter pilots applied the AFTL's, it would be shut down. If you show up at work at your original duty time and it is delayed, you will not be able to complete your duty but pilots just do it. Nothing is questioned and always accepted. That fear thingy keeps popping up.:ugh:

It nice to have a rant, but reality has to set in. CX pilots are on a good package and will do nothing to jeopardize it. Expect for the younger pilots, but the senior guys don't care about them. It's about me.:ok:

Fear Fear Fear Fear. It's what you are good at.:D

This is a blatant lie.

Good observation and I am not on the freighter.:}

I get my info from freight pilots. Being called in the hotel for delayed operations and numerous changes in crew direct.:ok:

19:15 CX 092D Anchorage Cathay Pacific Depart 10:16 (1/11/2007)

16:25 CX 080 Anchorage Cathay Pacific Depart 17:57
Chicago

Seems 080 will be delayed out of ANC. If the crew go down stairs at the original start time and find out it is delayed. Well at the 4 hour mark, the flight duty should start. Depending on how long it is delayed, you may not be able to complete the duty.

Which part is a blatant lie, is it ever on time, applying the AFTL’s, or not being able to complete your duty?

Please don’t be offended, there are many Passenger Pilots that don’t apply the AFTL’s either. It’s that fear thingy keeps popping up.:ok:

Very simple really: If there is ANY reason you should NOT be at work....DON'T BE! :=

-When you are called on reserve you have 2 hrs 15 mins to report.Use all of it.This can really screw up an early morning (or any other) departure.

-A good safe approach(early config, etc) can chew through an extra ton of fuel. Roll on US$100 oil !

-Less than CFP fuel(LOL) or Contingency B? Never. More than CFP? Often.

CX's "rule-by-fear" is officiallly over. You heard it here first. There are plenty of other good opportunities out there for all ranks. Threats of any description simply don't work.

"The Management",PW, et al,you can take your public school playground bully mentality & shove it.

CX (& KA also) is run by absolute w****rs who have no clue about the value of their employees. They are seen simply as a necessary evil as opposed to a valuable asset. The starting salary for cabin crew, for example, is exactly co-incident with the government defined poverty line.Amazing.

Have a nice day.:)
