Which climb speed?

(Like the power settings, the answers are in the PoH... I trust you're not in the process of learning to fly the aircraft and receiving inadequate training, are you?)

hi kit

I have a chance of a job on the said a/c and just wanted to get some idea of the speeds, i canot get hold of the POH for another two weeks.
I have about 100 hrs as pa but that was some years ago.

Raty,

No problem with that. My real concern is that you just asked for 'climb speed'...

Do you mean Vx, y, xse, yse, erc, or what? I guess you mean all of them...

Where are you geographically? How about finding a local operator and asking just to sit down with a copy of the PoH for a couple of hours..? I might be able to point you in a worthwhile direction for your research...

We used 38"MP/2400rpm and 120kts...

V speeds if I recall...

Vr (company SOP) 95kts (note - Chieftain is obviously perf B, but when at MTOW - vg kitted at 7360Ibs, 100kts Vr if TODA permits will give you a much smoother transition)

Vx - 84kts

Vy - 107kts (I think)

Vapp - 120kts (company SOP - short field Vapp was blue line)

What are you transitioning from? (a/c?) Chieftain requires some forward thinking due to stage cooling and in that respect can be rather slippery.
