With new types and the capabilities of Bizjets ever increasing, we should expect to see some eye-popping records being set.

A customer of ours did Los Angeles - Riyadh, Saudi this week in a private B747-400; the flightplan distance was 7,782 nautical miles (14,412 kilometers) and they blocked it in 14.5 hours, landing with over an hour's gas in the tanks. That's an average speed of 537 knots.

Too far for me - anyone got any longer legs?

LAX-RUH is a normal sector for us with 30 year old technology..... but there again the B747-SP was unique:):)

N737ER BBJ1 holds the longest in category range record with a delivery flight from SEA-JED, if i remember correctly, it was 15hrs40mins (Cant find it on google...)

I remember around 5 years ago doing the planning for a OERK-NFFN on a 767 (around 8000nm I think) which took them the best part of 19 hours I recall...

:}Met the crew of a BBJ in Riyadh that did their maiden flight from Seattle to Riyadh non stop, I believe it was 5800 nautical, I believe they held the record fo the longest flight in a BBJ, maybe they still do.

i thought the gulfstream g550 could do somewhere around 6500 nm (6750 nm on their website with 4 crew, 8 passengers) so syd-lax should be able to just do it (not sure about etops rules)

my personal "best" in a G-V: London Luton to Buenos Aires.

6469 NM ESAD, 14h50 flight time, 2700lbs on board at shutdown, which on that day was final reserve + alternate + 20 minutes hold...

what a plane..
