Hi all,

Just a quick message to all F/A's in Australia - particularly W.A. Does anyone know of any accounants who specialise in the Aviation Industry seeing as tax time is approaching??

Cheers,

Miss S xxx

Kevin Bell, of Bell, Stratton & Murdoch, in East Victoria Park is very good. I have used him before when I lived in WA, and he is very 'up' on current airline deductions.

There is one firm in Balcatta that a lot of FA's in my company use. Their name starts with A but I can't remember what they're called. I was going to use them last year but when I found out they charge over $300 to do your tax return I went to my regular accountant - got charged $90 and got $1500 back which wasn't bad at all. Most accountants will know what you can and can't claim - make sure they give you your zoning allowances, i know mine is a bit funny about giving them to me but according to the tax department we're entitled to them!
Good luck!

Hi Kart Tart,

As I received my Group Certificate last week I was wondering what the name of your regular accountant is?? I'd like to do my history and compare costs etc before parting with my hard earned cash.

Cheers,

Miss Shagwell. ;)

I've actually gone to Ord and Partners this year. They're in West Perth.
My zoning allowances are up this year & when I asked my regular accountant about them last year he tried to tell me I couldn't get them when I know I can. So i'm going to Ord & Partners where they have an aviation specific accountant. One of the Pilots and another FA recommended them to me so I figure they're good. They only charge about $150 and you get a lot back which is great!
I'm going in there next week. I'll let you know if they do a good job or not!
