Hi guys,

A bit confused with FR's explination on the website about a few things - Why can't they just put it in plain English to us!

On the way out I can check in Web and Go no problems, no bags etc.. However, for the return journey I need to bring a bag too large for handluggage back with me - What fees am I going to need to pay?

I understand I would loose priority boarding etc, thats not my main concern.

I believe I will have to pay for the checked bag (13 euros) and another boarding card (6 euros) which I have no problem with paying solong as it doesn't get any more than that!

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Adam.

The way I would understand it for your return if you don’t do ‘Check-N-Go’ and just arrive at the airport you will have to pay the charge for checking-in a bag (€12) and the new ‘airport check-in’ fee (€3).

However if you do ‘Check-N-Go’ then arrive at the airport and want to check-in your bag in then you will have to pay the bag charge (€12) and the boarding card re-issue fee (€3).

So either way you’re looking at the same price.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Is it possible for 1 person on the same booking to use Check 'n' Go and another to check-in at the airport?

Adam.

Yes, when you are on the ‘Check-N-Go’ site you can choose whom on the booking you wish to check-in at that time. The other passenger would just have to pay the airport check-in fee to check-in at the airport.

You sure? I was told (and found it to be the case) that if you booked web check-in it had to be for the whole booking. Maybe they changed that with the latest rules change.

I have frequently done web check in and hand luggage only, to fly out, done shopping in Germany and paid to check in a case coming back. On appearing at the Ryanair ticket desk (not check in) I have been given a Priority Boarding pass in lieu of my on line check in for the return trip.

When you book you do have to select web check-in for the whole booking or none of it. But if you arrive at the airport and haven’t done web check-in, even though you booked it, you can pay the ‘penalty’ and check-in at an airport counter.

On a recent family trip (4) I needed to check one bag and as has been said before if one party needs to check in at the desk then everyone does. A real con paying desk fees each way etc, just like the card payment fee per person - even though there is only one transaction, but I digress. The solution was for me to check in with a bag on one booking, and the Mrs to book her ticket and the kids and check in online.

Just book the two flights seperately. Use the free online check-in on your flight out and pay for a bag and use the desks on the way back (€6 + €3).
