Well our 24hrs stopage nears to an end ,just returned from the picket lines which started from 06.00 it was a great 'day out' which ended in a huge march on our head office (600 + cabin crew) ,were a letter was handed into our Chief executive.

British Midlands ground ops are on an all out strike in Dublin scince Monday because they are to be sold off (rumour has it that there dublin base cabin crew refused to cross the picket lines anybody know different?? or do they have dublin base cabin crew ??),we joined them on the picket lines at the airport and a great time was had by all.

WE are all set for the longhaul if it comes to that we will not cave in this time round .
Morale is at an all time high as cabin crew finaly see the power that they have by sticking together.
That's all for now .

Just heard the news.The strike is called off for direct talks with the company.Perhaps management have finally seen sense.(Probably not but we mortals can merely hope)

IMPACTS cabin crew committee decided yesterday to defer Fridays 16th 24-hour strike to allow further talks on revised resolution suggestions from the labour court .However ,the union has served the company with notice of further industrial action ,commencing next Wednesday 21st if a resolution is not reached.

The Labour Court has not made a second formal recommendation to the unoion.Rather it has asked the committee to give its views on informal suggestions.The committee told the Labour Court that it was not in a position to accept the new suggestions ,and had deferred Fridays strike to allow further talks on various issues raised in them.

The suggestions included improvements in promotion differentials ,which would be replaced with new promotional scales rather than existing allowances .The proposals would also freeze the most contentious proposed chages in working conditions ,which would be referred to a joint working group that would also consider roster improvements, working arrangements ,and pay.The working group would have an independent chairperson ,agreed by both sides ,and would report by September 1st (we are seeking that this time table be brought forward to July).

The committee told the court it had three main problems with the suggestions:

The absence of further progress on pay.

The need for clarification on the wording on the working group's terms of reference,and for assurances over the company's approach to it;

A shortening of the working group's proposed six -month time scale from September to July;

The need to further refine certain flexibility issues addressed in the suggestions.

The union's deferral of Friday's strike has directly led to a meeting with the company's Chief Executive today.The Cabin Crew Committee will be pressing for improvements in some elements of the suggested package and clarifications about the working group process(including improved time scale).We will also seek assurances over the companys approach to future talks.

Well that's what is going on to date we all ask a few question
Can we trust managment???
Do we belive them ??
Why the threats to fold the airline?? ,we have heard them far too many times before ,especially now when they are making unprecedented profits(it's about time they paid us what we're worth.Show us the money!!! ).
We await their response to what they think of the proposal we put to them today .If we don't like what they come back with then Wednesday is on .
We have met with the Chief Executive so if there is not willingness to solve this problem from management,fasten your seat belts we're in for a turbulent ride.
