Actually, there are new(ish) conditions with QLink that give you a free pass on some elements of QF recruitment requirements. Once you have some time in the company, QF will waive one selection requirement, meaning (for example) that you can get your foot in the door without Year 12 English etc.
While there has been a feeling in the past that QLink pilots just didn't go to mainline, I know of several that have left recently for LH jobs.
For more precise details, I'll have to ask around on the terms of the MOU.
