I have just been approached by an old friend who has moved to New Zealand. As a young schoolboy he collected around 300 8x10 publicity photographs of the new aircraft and test pilots of the golden age of the 40's and 50's. Many are signed. He also has the original brochures for the JP and Vampire T11. I believe that there is an album of the Canberra and the English Electric TP's.
He has approached Sotheby's but they required him to photograph the whole lot before they would even consider offering them for sale.
Any ideas on who would be interested in this collection?

Hi there
I run a Test Pilot Tribute website, and would certainly be interested in seeing/purchasing these for my website.

Feel free to contact me offline or PM me

May be worth posting something here, there are a lot of collectors of NZ aviation nostalgia etc on this forum.

Would be nice to see the images available rather than get lost in a private collection. Don't Airliners.net or similar have the facility to show them? or maybe just photobucket them on here in the photograph thread at the top http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=128156 ?

Whatever you do, scan them all first. With practice you should be able to do one in about 2-3 minutes. Do them at a good resolution, say 400 dpi, and save the scans to CD-Rs.

Contact a local auction house for a more constructive response than Sothebys.
