Hi all

I am going to apply for a number of jobs over the next few weeks to see whether there really is a pilot shortage.

I own an ATPL licence obtained in 1992, approx 4000hrs total, made up of Instruction and charter.

Gave the game away about six years ago. Currently 48 years of age.

Whats the chance.

If you have...

A "current" Mult-IFR rating.
A "current" Class 1 medical.
A "current" dangerous goods certificate.
At least 500 hours multi-IFR command. The world is your oyster.

Oh..., and unless you want to live on subsistance wages, go straight to the majors!

And don't let your age put you off, DJ recently put on a new F/O, aged 58!

Good luck with experiment.

a shortage does exist but remember if you are a K.O.K then no desperate shortage will help you.

God luck in the interviews:ok:

Krusty,

Where would one obtain a current Dangerous Goods Certificate now days?

My own is out of date, having been issued by Ansett!

Cheers

Don't goto Avcats, as they have lost their approval to train DG courses by CASA, however they are still happy to take everyone's money even if the certificate is as useful as toilet paper (maybe less than).

I just did mine at Airsafe (online) they are in Perth and they post you out the certificate next day.

When did Avcats lose their approval?
