Hanscom Field - KBED

Has anyone operated into KBED direct from Europe recently ? US Government Web site does not list it as Airport of Entry but the FBO says Customs are available and no problem ?? I will have non US/Canadian reg plane and non us passengers ?

I've flown into BED direct from Montreal a couple of years ago. No problem, just maken VERY sure you have customs notified AND you arrive precisely at the agreed upon time.

Having said that, this was a private flight and it originated in the US's favorite neighbouring country. No clue if the regs flying in from Europe and/or commercial are more stringent.

We have operated directly into KBED from Canada on numerous occasions. US Customs there can at times be quite persnickety however. Make sure all paperwork is in order and ready to go.

Bedford has US Customs but it is NOT 24/7. Here is the new revised CBP Guide to Private Flyers (http://www.cbp.gov/linkhandler/cgov/travel/pleasure_boats/private_flyers/private_flyers_guide.ctt/private_flyers_guide.pdf)that will tell you almost everything that you need to know.

NOTE: US Customs will not longer accept "ADCUS" in a flight plan as prior notification. You must notify by telephone. Be sure to make not of the inspectors name/initials or badge number in case it is necessary to prove later that you did notify them.

As recently as early july, KBED was 24h, but with prior notice.
It's no prob to go there with european/russian pax/airplane.
Just make sure you follow the usual rules (send all the the pax details prior to departure, etc...)

By saying that it is not 24/7, it is not staffed 24/7. You must make prior arrangements as you mention.
