Apparently an AN-26 crash this morning , around 10:30 am LT, in Massina(Kingasani ya Suka) crowded neibourhood of Kinshasa, near Ndjili Airport...
Number of injured or dead is unknown!
Any news?Or Pix?

According to www.african-aviation.com (http://www.african-aviation.com), the aircraft was operated by Africa One airlines:

Plane crashes in Kinshasa

Russian-made cargo plane with 17 people on board crashed in a crowded neighbourhood of Kinshasa, DR of Congo's capital , airport officials and witnesses said. The Antonov aircraft belongs to congolese airline Africa 1. A large explosion followed the crash, and United Nations spokeman said it fears many people are dead.

Reports all on board dead and almost certainly further casualties on the ground. :sad:

Inital reports says 8 dead on the ground, 22 of 24 onboard killed as well.

Is that the same type that was parked on the grass at Brakpan in the '90's ?

Looks like it was built to fly forever.
