"It will be interesting to see what happens when "on-shore" basings come to NA. What will happen to all those Canadians on both Freighters and Pax flying out of the USA without a Green Card?:bored:"

I came across this quote on another thread. I think it's a pretty valid question. Does anyone know if this will actually force all Canadians without a green card off of the US bases?

The easy solution to this is to set up a Canadian basing company with preferred US ports.

Pilots based in a low or nill tax country should beware electing to be based in a high taxed country regardless of how little time they spend there...do not sleepwalk into high taxes residency accidentally... simply ask the affected tax authorities for a ruleing in writing before you change base.

conversation overheard in ANC: "...Mr Teamsters rep...do you see any problem in representing US based CX/USAB pilots"...? Answer: "no problem at all"... :)

Answer from CX to Mr Teamsters Rep with regard to the statement that he now represents those honorable USAB pilots.
"You must be confused, we closed down USAB last week. All those pilots are now based in Hong Kong."

They will tell you that before you sign. After, when everyone is signed over, they will have a re-think of this on-shoring thing.:E
They may not do it. Ask to have a greed card before you sign and see what they say.:ok:
