Has anyone else been really F****d around by 'Ned' Kelly Aviation ???? - Do they actually have jobs to offer, or are they just the biggest pile of cheats and liars going.
I would be very very intrested to hear if anyone has ever had any luck with this nonsense outfit as I am tempted to call in the fraud squad !!!!!!!

Funny you should ask. Well since my first approach with the said organisation I have well and truely been led up the garden path. I even went to Ireland for an interview with a certain Belgian carrier disguised as an Irish one, only to find the guy conducting the interview was on a course all week http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif
Needless to say I didn't get the job. Next move also turns out to be, shall we say, mysterious. All the positions entered on aviationjobsearch.com are (I think) cosher, but I have been trying to get through to messrs Ned Kelly for over a week now. Numerous messages left, numerous e-mails sent, and yes you've guessed it, NO REPLY  Think I'll start my own agency........ :)

off blox - Did they pay your expences and compensate you for the hassle ?????

SAAD340 - Put it this way. If an agency wants me to travel to interviews overseas, then they pay for any hassle incurred. My only loss was having to spend the day wondering what on earth I was doing there in the first place http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif - That said, the guinness was as good as ever  mail me for more info and gen if you want :)

I have been well and truly led up the garden path by this bunch of t****rs as well.

I think they hear of jobs and then advertise them in the hope that they will be able to place someone. I tried to get a job through them early this year with a well known airline and when I actually got to talk to the people concerned at said airline was told there were no jobs and if there were, they certainly wouln't be using an agency.

Similar experience with another, smaller airline.

My advice is steer well clear of Ned Kelly Aviation and if you are desperate enough to have to deal with them, don't expect anything in the way of service and especially don't expect a job to be forthcoming.

OFF BLOX

Have had similar experience to you with regard to telephone/mail/e-mail.
We should start our own agency as there man has previously told me that he bought a new BMW out of his commission last year.

Hey Doctor - Maybe we should get together and start our own agency. I once helped a girl start a recruitment agency using my cellar as an office. I know for a fact that mega bucks can be made when placing good boys and girls. Charging up to 12% commission based on salary is a good earner.
Nothing in life is difficult. I know someone who is doing this recruitment lark right now and might be up for it  :)

As for Ned and his shiny new wheels, didnt hear about the BMW purchase, but when I mentioned to the "proprietor" that I had just bought a new 328i, he said that he had always wanted one too!!! Seems he can't even get that story right http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/tongue.gif

OFF BLOX.

Not a bad idea and if my experiences with agencies are anything to go by (and Ned isn't the only one I've tried) we wouldn't have to try very hard to be better than most!!!

Always wanted an M3 myself, still will have to be happy with the Celica until I can get that dream job!!!

Ned Kelly Aviation?
Can't get the guy off the phone! I've investigated every one of his leads, and I don't know where he gets them from - he must dream the jobs up. Has anybody actually met the guy? I have, and 'wide-boy' is a total under-statement! Folks, take this one with a huge pinch of salt.

I wonder how many of you really have any understanding of how a recruitment agency works.

No I do not not work for Kelly Aviation. Yes I do know the guy who set the agency up, and I have attended interviews which he has arranged and been offered jobs as a result and I am currently working for a company who offered me a job as a result of an interview set up by Kelly's.

Kelly Aviation is the only truly specialised agency in the UK that deals with operations/dispatch staff plus many other facets of aviation.

The guy in question has his finger very much on the pulse as to what is happening within the UK/Europe market. He has contracts with major UK charter carriers at least one major UK scheduled operator plus many other operations support service companies.

As you may or may not be aware he runs the Aviation division on his own and spends much time travelling and arranging placements, which can sometimes be a lengthy process because as with everything else these deals are subject to cost agreement.

Any job advertised is likely to be so on the basis that the contract has been agreed or that the employer wants to see a selection of CV's to see just who is out there.

In addition if you are finding that messages are not being returned, is it not wise to think that when any positive news is available you will be informed. You don't honestly expect someone to spend their time on the phone letting people know there is nothing to tell them at present? Hardly quality time management, eh!

I suggest you draw your necks in, and for those of you suggesting setting up on your own it might be wise to remove the cynicism chip your carrying.

I don't think any of you would last 5 minutes if you think the business is money for old rope.

Kind Regards

Odin

Odin,
Many apologies. No offence meant! It's just that so far, you are the only one to chip in and fight Kelly's corner. http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/cool.gif
I'm glad that you have succeeded where others have failed.............just that I didn't fancy sleeping with the guy! http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif

Very interesting reading...
I had a job offer through Kelly Aviation at the beginning of this year and found Mr SP very easy to work with.
All in all, a bloody good day out !!!

Nice to see someone has a job thru Ned's outfit, that means perhaps all hope should not be lost.

And by the way, I didn't say he didn't work hard, just that I'd been led up the garden path well and truly on occasions by this and other agencies.

Like the man immensly and can't stop talking with him when he's on the phone, very easy to get along with.

Will await results

I like others, although appear to be few & far between, have found SP to be straight & upfront. Speaking to other agencies, it is not always the agency at fault when things appear to go wrong. Companies have been known to let agencies do the 'donkey' work on their behalf
just to see what is out there, when they actually have no jobs at the time to fill. http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif

Still trying to work out what car some-one drives has to do with their ability to find people employment. http://smilecwm.tripod.com/net5/smile-mad.gif
