What are the views on this?
Clearly, it is common with airlines and even smaller jet operations, but with piston GA one is often (not always) taken indoors as a default position and then one is presented to Customs.
Recently I had a case where even the landing was refused (in Europe, but not UK) at an airfield which needs PPR for Customs, even though they knew it was only a fuel stop.
