What and where is the ideal way to get into ground crew work-anything considered- for a 36 year old chap! Is it Servisair, BAA, the airlines themselves or other?

It's like any other job, decide what you want, find the location you want to work in, search out the Companies and names of the right bosses and write to them. There is a degree of seasonality to airline/handling agent recruitment and the early part of the year from Feb to March is the best time to get at it. Keep you eye on the local airport newspapers most have them and they are readily available in the terminals.

Getting hold of an aviation related qualification like the City & Guilds course is worth while. Your age should not be factor, I would hope.

If you live in the Luton area drop me an email.

Good luck
