View Full Version : Flight time limitation flow chart ?

Bonjour All

Am looking for, if it exists, a simple way to sort out FTL and minimum rest required.
I was thinking about a kind of "Flow chart" I could adapt and use in my company.
Typically, it would be used by the scheduling office , to avoid silly plannings and last minute flight cancellation (landing at 1 in a morning, with a ETD at 7 .... )
Help appreciated
Nicolas

FDP
4 Landings -> 14h
5 Landings -> 13h
6 Landings -> 12h
7 Landings -> 11h
Split Duty
2 periods separated by a break and notified to the crew before the flight.

Consecutive hours break :
4h-9h59 -> increase FDP by half of the break
Post and pre-flight duties : 2 X 30 min increase of the break
FDP before or after the break must not exceed 10h
Break of 6 h or more : suitable accomodation must be provided (i.e. on airport hotel room with AC or max 30 min travel time to the hotel).
Rest period following split duty must be equal or longer than the total FDP, including the break.

Rest time
FDP less than 12h -> 8h minimum
FDP from 12h to 14h -> 10h minimum
FDP more than 14h -> 12h minimum
Minimum of 2 X 36h or 1 X 54h rest period within any 10 consecutive days.

This is for your operation, FTL are under the control of the state of AOC, therefore can vary widely.
For example 14 hours of duty permits only 2 landings in Portugal..and minimum rest is 11 hours..

Thank you guys
I know about local differences, but I am looking for a tool (software maybe) I could adapt and use in our operation.
Many thanks indeed ;)

I didn't realise Flight Times Limits and duty times were an issue in your company Mr Porcorosso ;).
At least not from the scheduling/marketing department's perspective...
As for you ? Well you are just a lazy pilot who sits on his bum all day :D :D

Ops Normal, in a way.

Héhéhé

Precisely, I was asked to find a quick and easy way to avoid silly scheduling and last minute flight cancellation due to FTL's and Minimum rest issues.
At least they have some willingness to improve this ;)

Cheers mate
