Hope everyone can help.

Do you pay tax on your flight duty pay/sector pay if so how much and which tax office does you company use?

The Exeter Tax office has taxed 100% of our flight duty pay since April this year. We don't get sector pay.

We did have a tax free allowance which was pulled with the excuse that all uk operators will have the same done to them. Is this true or just spin from the Exeter Tax office?

I think sector pay/flying pay etc is normally taxed, since it is part of your income. Whereas allowances for "subsisting" down route are largely untaxed, because those allowances repay you for expenses incurred doing your job, ie eating when really necessary, buying large rounds for your crew and tipping lap dancers, most of which expense you wouldn't incur if you were at home for the evening.

There is a review of the whole flightpay allowance/tax relief going on with the tax office at the min and the end result will be one fixed tax percentage for all instead of different regions applying different rates, Personally I think it will end up at 100% going by the way brown hammers everyone now, but then again im fed up with Lair stealth brown anyway:mad::mad::mad:

fine.
Then we'll see how the tax office copes with us all sending in a self assesment form with every cup of coffee, every sandwitch, every meal and service required downroute.
Should piss them off quite considerably I should think.
