Paxed on Jet2 flight to FAO yesterday. During the descent the pilot PAed that we had to hold due to an aircraft aircraft in distress. Landed (very nicely!) 20 mins later, to see a Globespan 737 on the apron with fire engines all around it.

And what in you story makes you conclude that the GSM 737 was there as a result of a turnback? :hmm:

a Globespan 737 on the apron with fire engines all around it. WOW !!! That must have been very impressive. Mark you fire engines do attend aircraft for all sorts of mundane reasons as well, such as fuel spillages. 2+2 can = 4 but it can in some peoples brain = 5. Let us not be too hasty in jumping to conclusions and making a meal out of little things.

How dare you post a thread with some news regarding a possible emergency! Anyone would think this is the Rumours & News forum... :)

Smoke in the flight deck apparently. The delightful crew shop man told me before popping over to offer them cheap fags.
