I have a few questions re: Wizz Air

I applied for DEC and have been offered an interview in October.

I currently have over 7000 TT including 1100 widebody P2 and 3700 multi P1.

What are the chances of being offered a command position or at the very least, a fast track for command?

I have an ICAO license. Would I have to obtain a JAA license eventually by writing all of the exams or could I hope to some how have it "grandfathered" in as Poland has just become part of the EU? Where exactly would I stand?

Can anyone who has been through the interview process recently please shed some light as to what I might expect.

I am also wondering what the salary being offered is, what the schedule would be like, and for what base. The results from the searches I have done here on PPRuNe seem a little dated.

And lastly, is there a training bond, what are the terms, and for how long?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I don't really have the inside scoop on Wizz but since nobody else is talking...


As for as I understand, Wizz is a bit of a bottom feeder, for example pay for your type and even pay for your line training, but don't quote me on it.

I'm pretty sure the company is based in Hungary, not Poland.

As for your ICAO (TC?) ATPL, having done the process myself which is not as daunting as it first sounds, I believe you will have to (with your heavy time) write Air Law and Human Factor exams, do a ride (in this case an A320 TR with an extra CAA examiner who can sign off your ATPL) and then within one year, write the rest (12) of the 14 exams. Piece of cake.

Of course you will need some sort of EU citizenship or work visa, perhaps the company can help you out with this, I don't know.

Have a look on ppjn.com it gives the pay and conditions. Base pay looks a bit low but 60 eur a sector min 400 sectors a year.

I have an EU passport, so that much I have sorted.

Anyone else have any information? There must be someone out there who has been through the process or currently is employed there. I need to reply as to if I will be attending and I don't want to waste everyones time.

I also don't know everything about Wizzair but there is a branch in Poland. It started originally in Budapest but since then the Poland branch has become more important.

I think your chances are good, but there is a bond and there is a good chance for a fast upgrading. But the pay for an FO is very low. For a JAA-license you need to do a few tests. But I would guess you first have to do the paper work and then you can go to Wizzair. They are low cost and don't organize anything for you. Is your ICAO-license from Poland or from which country?

Why dont you try contacting Storm aviation and they will supply you with an idea of contract as they supply wizz with crew. Considering your experience and hours and european passport you can do alot better then wizz i would suggest, unless your specifically interested in wizz.
