It's beautiful... went onboard it in YBBN today, very schmick looking piece of equipment! The flight deck feels bigger than the B737 - there is room to swing a cat if one so desires :}

Anyone heard anything about recruiting for these JJ's?

What about the internal recruiting and the external recruiting - has that started as yet?

What is the feel out there about the JJ's? where they are going to be deployed? Overnights they are expected to do?

Yeah, expect a lot of Syd overnights until the company can convince crew to take a Syd base on EMB pay. Plenty of CBR stops too, with 16 sectors per day between the two cities.

Well - will be interesting times ahead to see how they crew the planes ....

See how many people take up the SYD JJ Command .... i hear there is not much $$$ to go there ... considering the cost of living ....

Anyhow - intersting times ahead - more planes coming, more crews required ..... more pilots available ?:ugh:

EMB pay is 80% of the same position's 737 pay. If you're thinking of joining I would look hard at either A320 operator before taking the EMB.

Most EMB flying will be between ports already served by VB's 737s, although not necessarily on routes flown by 737s. Once a few 190s arrive the 170s can start the real regional routes, but they will be in the minority.

Seems more catchy the second time round.

Will this get airplay on OZ free to Air TV?

Any more news on recruitment for the E-jet? Has anyone had an interview specifically for the EMB is it all still 73??

I would be quite happy to sit in the RH seat with a Sydney base it's a foot in the door right?? Bit over 2000TT, 700+ Multi Command mostly turbine and multi crew experience.

Not a whisper from VB is it my low total time?? Anyone in the know??

BubbaJ - as far as I can tell VB recruitment is a total lottery!

Seems pretty centred around the almighty 'blue star'. Also HEARD that 3000hrs is the magic figure?????????????

To all at the sharp end: from an ATC (RTF) standpoint is "E (as distinct from echo) JET" for (E170/E190) a satisfactory description of this type? The alternative, with respect, is too long.

Do you mean like..."ABC behind the E-Jet on final line up''.......??

How about "behind the Embraer"....

There's too many different Embraers flying around!

"Behind the Virgin E-Jet" is best. :}

I would suggest "behind the Embraer 170/190" etc is good... Although given the fact that it is a relatively new type to Aussie skies might require it to be preceded with the relevant operators name eg "Behind the Air North/Virgin/SkyAirWorld Embraer 170" etc

How about...."line-up behind the Ve-Jet".......
