Top marks to the LH seat on my EZY flight back into LGW this morning for giving THE most unintelligible and rushed PA announcement I have ever heard.

I realise it was an early one and you've probably only had 10 mins sleep, but at least give the impression to the SLF that you're awake....:rolleyes:

Who hasn't when it's early? I remember on a few occasions forgetting the flight number so just throwing a couple of numbers together. Don't think it ruined anyone's flight.

I'm not saying it spoilt the flight, but it came across as if he couldn't really be bothered to say anything, and what he did say was unintelligible. Maybe EZY have lower standards than the rest of us. The Cabin crew chap looked like he'd just rolled out of bed as well and left his razor behind......Maybe it was just a good night out on the town for all concerned?:E

Nope - It's one of the least interesting threads that I've read recently, but so far the only people in any danger from it are those contributing. If you move away, it will slip quietly below the surface, leaving only the odd bubble to remind you of its' existence...

I would have thought that pilots giving unintelligible PAs is an important issue.

It gives a very poor impression to passengers and does not help to reassure them that those at the controls are on the ball and, well, awake.

As for easyJet, the previous poster is wholly incorrect to suggest that standards are lower.

On a recent easyJet flight back from Palermo to Gatwick, the captain made an informative, calm, measured, professional PA (despite it being past bedtime for all on board) which impressed everyone.

Not how it works at all.
This forum is for telling them how wonderful they are and allowing them to give you a friendly hair ruffling along the lines of "there's a good little passenger..."
If you post your thoughts, then magically, they become your apparent actions and you are castigated unmercifully by Walts, disaffected airline personnel and Uriah Heapish (alleged) fellow passengers....
If, God forbid, you take the forum instructions literally and make a statement such as yours, you will need to understand that you have made a direct criticism and should expect to be flamed accordingly.
To be fair, commercial pilots do take note of a number issues here but tend to pm rather than respond on the forum.

I'm free to expresss my opinion, but not to censor accordingly - your thread remains open because even though it does not interest me personally, others may wish to discuss it.

As an aside, It seeems to me that your thread would generate more discussion if you widened the topic, rather than narrowing it to a specific incident on a specific flight. "What best to do when you are unable to hear/understand a safety PA?" and so on. At the moment, all we have is a comment that you couldn't hear a PA properly one morning - on its' own, hardly a world-mover. You've chosen to draw some conclusions from that PA that are in my view, highly speculative.


The pilot had not had sufficient sleep

The pilot couldn't be bothered to speak

The Cabin Crew had just got out of bed

The Crew had enjoyed a night on the town.

EZ have lower standards than other carriers


Anyway, for those that want it, the thread remains open.

P.S. Chuffer - a word to the wise - don't get too excited about your new best buddy strake who may not be quite as wonderful as he seems and who is presently enjoying a well-deserved short vacation from this forum.

Tightslot....I've just noticed that you banned me for two days.
I have not used foul language nor have I ever attacked anyone here personally despite receiving the same. I have only ever posted my thoughts and opinions, sometimes robustly I admit...but as requested by this board and certainly nowhere near as rudely as on another board you moderate.
Of course, you can ban me or remove me permanently, that is your right.
If I have offended you or anyone else, I apologise but I believe that my thoughts as a frequent flyer might be of value. I shall try to moderate my method of writing but for as long as you allow me, I would like to tell things as I feel and am happy to defend my views accordingly.
