9,000 Hours?

That's twice as many as the chief pilot of DHL Air UK has!

Well that's good!
Yes I did forget to mention that I was interested in an East Midlands base.

You won't get an EMA base, but you'd have nearly half the hours in the company!

Happy bunch haha sure thats why approx 20% of the pilots have left and another 15+ pilots have an interview with Silverjet this month.
less days off ,more flying ,more bonuses for managers and no money for a payrise!
i think they only hire for a Leipzig base from now on!!

33% according to the DFO. Plus more in the pipeline.

33%? That’s no problem! According to their MD getting rid of the expensive pilots is a very healthy thing. Low-timers will work for half the going rate, plus they’ll all be working from Leipzig in 2008 … or will they?

Barrow - ain't you got better things to do like slagging off your own airline?
Is that TC / Excel or Globespan i'm not sure?
It's 33 Pilots, 20 % me thinks. :\

Those looking for jobs at DHLAir but were worried about being based in Leipzig need worry no more (well at least for the near future). Its all changed and the company has backtracked. Those that were taken on this year with LEJ contracts will be told that they can be permanently EMA based if they want to be. Those that will be taken on in early 2008 will be EMA based.

So chase up that CV. Cos there will be more resignations from DHLAir very soon. (ie. this month)

How are they doing for guys at LEJ though?

They dont really want any LEJ based pilots anymore for the near future. There are some new joiners who did join to be LEJ based-they will be allowed to stay there.

neil armstrong - good evening. Wondering what rosters are like out of EMA at the moment. Heard a rumour that DHL were possibly looking at 6 on and 6 off. Cheers. JD

Hi Neil,
Have applied to DHL for an F/E job on the bus. Not heard a word. Any idea if they are still recruiting? Applied 23rd Nov after ad in Flight.

Any contacts?

Coop & I want to fly again bear!!!

Hey Coop/Bear
They must be,I believe they have plans to add yet more A300 to the European fleet.Every time I pass through I see new faces so maybe throw the application at them again.Several of the old CO have been seconded lately and it sure would be good to see you and the beer bear again.

The current pay for F/O low hours is £28,000, but you get a few extras on top of that, i.e. day off payments at £500 a day. (If you want them) and duty pay which adds about another £7-8000.

They are now recruiting for the EMA base, and as an F/O I currently get around 12-14 days off a month. Captains do seem to be working harder mainly due to the Silverjet rush.

And yes I think they are hiring and will be into the New Year with another batch departing for the more glamorous Silverjet.

Dont know where you heard 6/6 but its rubbish.9/5 is as good as they will offer at the present,or a flex roster.
Im on the latter and from Nov07 to Feb08 have an average of 9 rostered days off.

Does anyone know at what point you become an experienced first officer at DHL? (ie. not low houred) Is it a full ATPL or perhaps if you have some multi crew time?
