Recently noticed that Air Europe Italy is still operating 777s out of Milan and Rome. I thought a bunch of Pprune naysayers had predicted their early disposal?

Questions:

1. How many pilots assigned to this fleet? Is it a senior aircraft?

2. Will Volare pilots be assigned to the fleet given the Volare takeover?

3. How is the Air Europe Italy/Volare merger doing in general? Would it be a secure place to work?

Would love to hear from Air Europe 777 pilots... What's it like to fly that beautiful aircraft?

Cheers!

Air Europe pilots are the guys operating the B777. They don't do much flying, something like 30 hrs a month per pilot. There have been talks of getting rid og the B777s but they are still flying.
From what I know within a year the Air Europe-Volare fleet will be made up of A320s & A330s. All the B767s & B777s will go.

Freighterjock you sre probably right. Two copilots from Gandalf Airlines are starting their B767 course on 3rd September with Air Europe.
This is good news, more aircraft-more jobs- higher salaries for pilots!
