Rumours in FNQ,

Will Tiger fly between Townsville and Darwin, finally linking Australia's two biggest military towns together??

And will Virgin Blue compete agaisnt Tiger on the same route using one of their new E170s??

Don't know about any of that but it will be an interesting cat fight when Virgin put their jungle jets on the Melbourne - Alice runs.

Due this month I believe. First trips will be October and has been discussed somewhere else on this board. New routes not expected till Feb next year.

Tiger would have to pay more than 92k for a captain? Wouldn't expect them to pay 240k for a captain though. Somewhere in between.

The Virgin Logo on the EMB's will be the updated version of the current Virgin logo. This updated version is being introduced across the entire Virgin Group of companies - its already part of the new Virgin Atlantic livery, and also the Virgin America livery. :ok:

Tiger propose - $119k as a base + $73/hr up to 1000 hrs

I done a bit of calculating

Asuming above figures are correct and you average 999 hours that works out to about AUS$10400 per month after tax. Your refund might be about 4-5 grand if your luckey.

On 240K your looking at $12600 per month net. Bit better but hardly an incentive to move from a hi-paying lo-tax job OS and I heard Tiger wont provide any fringe benefits at all like transport (but thatd be taxed to the hilt anyway).

Then you have to put up with ASIC, rent or morgage out of your own pocket, super tax, etc.

I dont think theyll get any Dragonair drivers - even the FOs are on a better wicket.

Have heard the same figures for Tiger (Tiger propose - $119k as a base + $73/hr up to 1000 hrs ) This is simply an industrial "tool" used to cicumvent the calculations that pilots use their calculators for, with these sort of payscales in place even if you are doing lots of hours your pay is very unpredictable which makes you less attractive to financing organisations and as for annual leave (rumoured to be four weeks) you would have to set up your own slush fund to cover the leave short fall, sounds like a scam to me, but then they are just trying to play the best game they can, choice is yours.

So they already have a dispensation from CASA to fly 1,000 hours?
