Ebrahim took the buy-out package. His last day at Gulf Air is the 30th of September. I found him to always be very friendly, approachable and wanting to help (and often, one of the few who wanted to and could help). In the end though, he had a lot of pressure on him given a lot of limitations, and of course, the complaints were more often communicated to him than the "thank-you's."

He is planning to take some well deserved rest before starting in something entirely new, I wish him well in whatever he will do next. He will be missed.

I agree 100% - he will be difficult to replace, but new brooms might help!!

I would also agree with you there.

I feel that the Staff Travel website can be greatly expanded and hasn't yet fully realized it's potential. For example, there should be absolutely no reason for an employee to have to visit Staff Travel to apply for an ID90 or ID50 type of ticket on Gulf Air . . . period. All of this can be webdriven (it is at other airlines) with the charges for travel that have been realized charged to the employee's payroll or credit card as desired.

The only real need for a visit to Staff Travel should be for more complex operations such as passes on other airlines, arranging cargo shipments, travel insurance, etc. This would free up staff, shorten lines, reduce costs, increase quality of service.

Very nice PJ...shared the same experiences with this gentleman...unfortunately controlling and managing his staff and department was not his "forte" but he was indeed a gentleman and will be missed by all of us.:ok:

Sorry Gentlemen. Got to disagree with you! Ebrahim scaved through and was undetected by many. From personal experience ( and I can assure you that I had many encounters over 14 years!) he was unreliable and inefficient. Obviously he was lucky at passing your grade!
Yes, hellboy... a new manager named Wael has taken over. Very efficient guy and got to where he was with very hard hork and persistence (and I'm sure he took a lot of s*** too!) Good luck to him and I'm sure that he'll knock that shop into action.:D

I usually would never reply to comments on personnel, however the posts regarding Ebrahim being a really nice guy :hmm:

I am under the impression that all of you who have posted are in the 'men's club' and of course had your a**es licked because of being in higher seniority.

But in these days of equal ops, the way many of us mere females (who were not kissing his a**) were treated by Ebrahim was unprofessional and degrading.

Look out of the picture guys and wise up! Time to see the real culprits for what they are! Ebrahim led a staff split up into his group (those who prayed 40 times a day and the remainder of their time was spent on personal calls) and the downtrodden few staff who actually did some work (Mustafa / Shahira) and carried the dead wood of Eb's gang! (think the rest)

I thought you guys were looking to build a better future for the company.... get rid of the dead wood! bring in some fresh hard workers with new ideas and move on!

Niki, 14 years of dealing with GF staff travel yet recently on another forum you said...
hi... have been looking for this address... thanks
was wondering if you know the type of rotation etc they work on?
am currently in Saudi / Europe 1 month on /off so would like similar.
thanks So obviously you don't even work for GF. Later you then said..Hi... Could anyone provide any info on the Cabin Attendant deal with GJ Lux? Salary / Roster / etc... Do they accept male crew? Is there an age limit.
Confused about where you are and your gender. Perhaps your comments about our head of staff travel are a little mis-guided.

If Mustafa is still at your Staff Travel, you guys should count yourselves lucky.

When I was at Gulf Air, it was great dealing with him. He was always polite to everyone, extremely helpful, and showed pride in his work regardless who he was helping out. That's something that many others there couldn't give a rat's buttock's about as they yapped on their mobile phones (WHO LET THEM HAVE MOBILES AT WORK?? DUMB, DUMB IDEA!!) or filed their nails and watched the clock tick down until it was time to go...!

I'm surprised Mustafa hasn't become your Manager of Staff Travel and I bet I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Dear Jackbauer

Well.... again that GF stale attitude!!!! Can a person not move on to better things???? Yes... I worked for GF for 14years .... left last year.... currently in Saudi and even on rotation you can believe that I am keeping options open to move on to better things! As for male crew..... Perhaps you have not heard of friends and helping them find info.
Finally, I am still very aware of the goings on in staff travel as I live in Bahrain with husband who works for GF!!!!!
So... I can assure you my comments are far from misguided!

Glad at least someone (Ray Darr) appreciates good staff for their work and not their favours.

AppreciATED. As I said, I am not there. I was merely wondering if Mustaffa, about the only person that WORKED when he was in Staff Travel, is still there...and if so, he deserves to be promoted. He certainly should at least be chosen to train all of the new Staff Travel staff that should replace the DEAD weight that was there.

By the way, is it still as painful to get anything done, ticket-wise?
