Hi All

Sorry no joy for an answer through the QF Direct Entry thread, thought I'd try a new one.

Heard from a friend down South that Qantas is soon to embark on a Recruitment drive overseas, (specifically South Africa) due to a lack of suitable respondents in Australia?

Any truth to that? Surely Qantas isn't planning on hiring pilots under the Employer Nomination Visa Program just yet?

Why am I now hearing a lot of Yarpie accents over the airwaves with JetStar International callsigns?:eek:

But aren't all the Yarpies in the 'Sand Pit' and the 'Fragrant Harbour'?:rolleyes:

Oh that's super!

Maybe they're just thinking about the ad for Jetstar-787-pilot-to-be in Flight?

"We regret that applications for positions available in Australia can not be accepted from overseas residents who do not fulfil Australian residency requirements at the time of application."

Seems to be the Qantas Group's current position on the whole thing.

I wonder if a certain Union had something to do with closing the old 457 visa avenue for pilots?:}
