Heard that some guys who left A320 operators for Etihad viewing it as a move to bigger iron are disappointed to discover that Etihad wants to put them into the A320.

Oh well, it's still too new an airline to draw any long term policy conclusions.

1.No DEC A320:ok:
2.All pilots will be CCQed after the first OPC...A320/330
3.The reason for the reassignment is that the B767 is going back to Emiri
safe flying to all

1.No DEC A320

Interviews already conducted for direct entry A320 Captains and the first few to arrive soon. More A320 Captains being interviewed in September for DEC A320.

2.All pilots will be CCQed after the first OPC...A320/330

A320 pilots are being told that they should expect CCQ to A330 after approximately 1 year not after first OPC.

3.The reason for the reasignment is that the B767 is going back to Emiri
safe flying to all

B767 almost certainly returning to Amiri in Oct but not 100% confirmed yet.

Could you please enlighten us as to where the A320 Captains specifically recruited for the A320 Fleet are now destined for as they are joining very soon. I am sure the GF A320 pilots in particular would like to know from someone in the know.

This whole 320 thing is already creating speculations and some disappointments among the present pool of EY pilots, esp for the FOs. Those who came to EY as 330 FOs with previous 320 type rating who were hoping for a future upgrade as widebody captains are very much concerned that they might be forced to go down and fly again as 320 FOs. For one thing they came to EY because they wanted to transition from medium to widebody jets, fly long haul and enjoy the nice layovers and get away from the backbreaking and headcracking turn around flights in the a320.

In my own opinion, it would be to the best interest of the company if they will limit the intake of a320 DECs and accelerate the upgrading of qualified 330 FOs to 320 captains in order to avoid dissension among the ranks. We dont want EY to be another EK where long deserving FOs were sidelined to give way for DECs.

I still have to hear and see what management is doing or planning to avert a possible crisis within the ranks of EY jocks. I just hope that it'd be for the best interest of everyone. :(

Most of the Gfa 320 FO had been advise in july that they will join on 320.
Now many 330 are worry and don t have any information from Etihad on which fleet they will join.....:ugh:

"For one thing they came to EY because they wanted to transition from medium to widebody jets, fly long haul and enjoy the nice layovers and get away from the backbreaking and headcracking turn around flights in the a320".

Oh Yes :D

Few 320/330 guys had refuse good job on widebody to join EY and now are feel to be trap... if 320 BCZ nothing is sure at this time:*

Ironbutthead, go ahead and break your leg. You seem to have a poor grasp of things, my friend. "Long deserving - means they have the qualifications in terms of hours, experience, and residency" in the company. If 2-3 yrs of flying in EY is not enough for an FO to qualify for an upgrade, then i don't know what is.

Didnt say not previously qualified or competent...u just make it sound like you have 15yr f.o.'s hanging around thats all....

I didn't say that, it's just your way of understanding things, which i would say is a little bit twisted. And to drive my point again, there are a lot of FOs in EY who are qualified for command upgrade. The intake of DECs should only be an interim solution to man the first a320's. Qualified FOs who have been serving the company for the past 1-2 yrs should be given the chance for upgrade, and the arrival of the a320s should be the best time to accelerate the upgrade process.

Just my opinion anyway...cheers!

I would guess that the EY recruiter was either British, from one of the old colonies, or had extensive background in the British (or colonial) aviation system.

"Endorsement" is what these people call a Type Rating.
