Yes, this was announced some two months ago. It is a very clever publicity campaign by SIA to auction seats for charity on (I think) the first two sectors. They start at US$3.80 in Y and by degrees to $3800 for a special package in 1st.
This is one of the smartest marketing moves you will see in a long time. The free publicity will be enormous.

The story on the somewhat wet streets of Singapore today is that some people have put down deposits of SGD10,000 (about GBP3,300) to be able to bid for the "first class suites", which are according to SIA the most luxurious things they have yet come up with.
