Duct taped airline

Duct tape is a very versatile medium. It's used to tape ducks up of course and other much more mundane things like securing airplane components...
Like this example in Gulf Air's A320 (registration ER) I flew back on from Kuwait yesterday where it was used to hold the partition between the business and steerage classes and for a substantial time it looks from the frayed edges.
Gives passengers a lot of confidence that.

Where did you get that tape? Us boeing guys have been looking for that for weeks now to fix up our birds and they keep telling us it's nil stock.

Every Bus from the factory is delivered with its own stock of High speed Tape thats where we get it.

Hey there CI100 lets not turn this into a racial slagfest...it is unfortunate to see this done in the cabin, especially in such a sloppy way if it were at least taped straight and neat it probably would go unnoticed by most pax..watched the other day as some lav racks were installed with 3 different kinds of rusty wood screws the engineer took from his pocket...sad really when nice shiny new ones are available in abundance at Manazel or any other local hardware store...time pressure, lack of parts and simple quality assurance are taking it's toll on our interior furnishings.(or whats left of some of them)..hope this gets turned around in short order..but kind of hard to lay blame at any specific person's feet from our side of things...on the other side of things...look at the boarding stairs our pax use at remote stands...garbage strewn all over sticky substances and stains all over..they never get washed it's embarrassing!!! Hope somebody from BAS reads this!!

I for one find CI100's post racially offensive and unecessary (and I don't do PC as a rule).

As for the original post, surley a valid comment as to at least some of the problems facing the airline and with photographic evidence to demonstrate that it is neither exaggerated nor fictitious.

Also note that the poster is simply reporting what a passenger (presumably a paying customer) has published and feels about the airline.

Perhaps if the airline had 'more of the mouths that it feeds' showing concern at such passenger reaction to their (at least in this case) shoddy product presentation rather than dismiss/defend such problems it would not be experiencing quite the same level of problems that it currently is ?

Perhaps the Mods would care to judge which of the two posts they would prefer to see on PPRuNe !

hey IB if you think BAS or anyone else on the ground will improve dont hold your breath. Everyday we show up for flight with starters that do not work and ac's that are a joke. fact is that we dont have enough ground equipment to go along with a "lax" attitude towards professional pride. all fleets are in shabby shape 767 are worse i hear but 333/340 are no jems either. we need a serious overhaul of attitude on the ground.

To 4hp...well done....to Desert hawk i couldnt agree more I am compiling a list of fotos of filthy stairs, "cleaned" cabins wih sticky floors and rubbish strewn about, toilets that reek.(mmmmmmmmm wish they had a camera with a "smell" feature)... etc...etc and will be presenting to our acting PCE when the compilation is complete...unless of course someone in the position to do something reads this and takes action...:ok:

I recently flew on an A330, if I am not mistaken, its -KD, which has its First class mirror held by a dozen pieces of tape.
And yes, its not duct tape - they probably ran out of the duct tape as well as the High speed one. This one had something like the medicinal or surgical tape, white in color.
First aid, it sure did need!
In many cultures, a cracked mirror is an ominous sign!

Anyone that has flown them will assume that the monthly GF Duct Tape budget must be pretty high.
