I have an entry level Epson printer (Epson stylus C45) about two years old.

It's used mainly for printing envelopes as my other printer has a tray feed that only has one tray and must be emptied of A4 and envelopes inserted to be printed.

When I last tried to use the printer, it reported "Parts inside your printer have reached the end of their service life, please consult the manufacturer for replacement" or some such message.

Pity I had just spent about $60 replacing the ink cartridges with genuine Epson cartridges.

I realise that you can buy a new printer for less than the cost of replacing the cartridges but some prior warning would have been nice.

I think this will be my last Epson product!!

Just a thought, maybe I'm wrong....
Could it be possible? The driver software might be keeping data as of the original installation date. After x years the message pops up.

Nothing to loose, try uninstalling the driver/other software that came with the printer and do a reinstall.

Probably just the wast ink pad full.

of course this makes it beyopnd economic repair if you take it to a service center....

BUT, google (as always) is your friend, there are DIY fixes..!

Whisperer, I downloaded the ssc service program and reset the waste ink counter. The printer is now up and running. Many thanks!
