View Full Version : Airtours Fleet Replacement with Boeings - Opinions from pilots?

Just read that Airtours may replace its Airbus (not sure whether that includes the A330s) and 757/767 fleet with brand-new 737-800s and the 767-400. Questions for Airtours pilots (or anyone else interested):

1. Will A320 pilots be upset about a transfer to the 737-800? I understand A320 pilots tend to like the ergonomics inherent in that fleet.

2. Would the A330 fleet be replaced as well?

3. What are your impressions of the 737-800 - even if you haven't flown it? Would you look forward to flying it?

Personally, I'm envious. I'd love to fly new Boeings for Airtours.

Cheers

As an AIH Airbus pilot, my hope is a fleet change to B737.

This would put an end to mixed fleet flying which should have been every pilots dream but has turned out to be a nightmare - 0500 reports for shorthaul followed by US/Caribbean bullets (18 hours rest downroute) returning sector in to a non home base airfield - is just one of the rostering practises we have to endure.
