I read somewhere that, unlike Europe, all US airlines require any pilot to have a Batchelors degree or equivilant before even being considered for employment. Is this true ? If it is is that the law or just the way it is there ?

Also, any Europeans working in North America ? what acedemic qualifications do you have ? ?.

Thanks for any info.

Not entirely true. Most of the big ones will require a degree, just because they can, ie suppy and demand. But the supplamental carriers, such as Kalitta, are not picky.
