As this is a rumour network I thought I would pass on the rumour :).

Cluver is coming back with Civair long-haul. He was over in the UK meeting the CAA and marketing people etc. to make it happen. Apparently he has slots @ STN and acft.

This may all be another pie in the sky concept from the 'Branson of Africa'.

That's all the rumour I have for now......

Maybe he should do the route in a baloon, since he's so full of HOT AIR.

I have heard that he has crew lined up with training slots as well but some have a problem that they have current jobs. What is it with old/ex SAA crew. They may have experience but why must they hog the new jobs in this country of ours just like the current SAA pilots in FACT flying the challenger 300 in their PRIVATE CAPAC:ugh::ugh::ugh:ITY

Crew (ex SAA) has already done their sim training at SAA on the 400

This guy can really not be taken seriously.

Just looking at his set up tells you that this guy is a joker of note.

In the latest edition of World Airnews, there is a list of African Airlines which is so far out of date, its frightening. Civair Airways is included in it and per the magazine, owns A Learjet, a couple of other jets, Beech 200's and Lord knows what else. Its actually pathetic, but then again, what can one expect from a hobo who tries to live a life of pretence & grandeur, and bullsh.......

Go to his hangar at FACT. No doors, containers with scrap lying all around.
Go to his Waterfront helicopter operation, and you'll find two clapped out old Jetrangers, and to supplement his income, he's opened a cafe in the Waterfront called the cockpit. There he sells coffee, toasted sandwiches and Civair paraphanalia. Mostly junk. Plastic helmets, clothing, caps etc. Oh and not to forget the Civiar Limousine Service in a 1995 clapped out S420 Mercedes at R5000 per day.

Should he be lucky enough that his financial backers stay with him to get this airline dream up and running, it will surely be a miracle, but I have my reservations.

I heard him do a sales pitch at Indaba this year, and 90% of the contents thereof was all a lie. He was telling people about his helicopters and airplanes that he bought, and I could not believe the stories he told them.

No, forget this guy...... he is definately no "African Branson", but what is for sure very "african" about him, is his ways and demeanour. Ha Ha.:D

Anyone who takes Civair seriously is a fool. They have got by in the past by bidding on contracts through sub-contractors. They have nothing to offer, and yet they win on government tenders. Must be a backhand somewhere.

The last time I heard their name mentioned in public was when a 210 supposedely operated by them ran out of fuel on the way to FADN. They were not prepared to pay for fuel for the aircraft in Maputo.

They seem to be intermediaries. They bid for contracts based on other operators logistics.:=

You'll notice that there is nothing on this site, just as there is nothing in the guy's pocket....... or head even....:bored:

quite funny... you look at their website and there's (what looks like) the old ZS-PNP when she was still a LJ31, and then you see LFU, parked in front of Signature's hangars, where it lives...
