Hello everyone this is my first post. I am from Canada and am a pilot currently working in the Arcitic.

I have been thinking for the past 3 or 4 years now to convert my licence from a Canadian CPL Multi-IFR to a JAA Frozen ATPL (I have 1000TT and 850 PIC). I also hold a JAA class 1 medical and have EU status (Greece).
All of my work experience is on single engine VFR operations.

I pretty much know what has to be done for the conversion, however I am uncertain whether to do a full-time study or a self-study/distance learning course. So perhaps someone can offer suggestions on which way to go and recomend a good program.

What kind of opportunities are there in Europe for someone with my times?

And am I better off obtaining my Canadian ATPL first?

Do most companies make you pay upfront for your MCC and type rating?

What is a reasonable starting salary for a F/O on a regional airline?

Thanks,

Paul K
