Flight Cancelled; Police Say Flight Attendant Was Drunk

It was a dramatic day in court today for a 26 year old flight attendant.
Sarah Mills, 26, is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, terroristic threatening and alcohol intoxication.
An Atlantic Southeast flight scheduled to leave Blue Grass Airport Sunday afternoon was cancelled because it didn't have enough crew members.
Police say Mills was pulled off the plane for being too drunk.
Court records say the captain notified police of Mills, then brought the plane back to the gate where police were were waiting.
Documents state that Mills threatened the captain of the flight saying "you are dead!" as she was escorted off the plane.
It also says Mills admitted to drinking Jack Daniels on board before take off.
The officer says he witnessed her clearly being unstable on her feet.
Soon after, passengers were forced to de-plane because the flight didn't have enough crew members. ASA officials say all passengers were re-accommodated to other flights to Atlanta, but some passengers say they decided not to fly after the incident.
In court, Mills pleaded for help from the judge, because she says she can't afford an attorney.
She says she just got this job and only had fifty dollars in the bank.
The judge set her bond at three hundred and fifty dollars, and ordered her a public defender.
Mills is due back in court August 14th.

:ugh: Firstly get your facts right. American Airlines is not the same as Atlantic Southeast :ugh:
Looking back at your previous posts in this forum. You seem to get a kick by dedicating all your posts to "Trashing Airlines and their Employees". :=
You are very obviously not Cabin Crew or an Airline Employee and if you are looking for attention you are looking in the wrong place and going about it the wrong way. :=
:ugh::ugh::ugh:
You seem to lead a very Sad Life....

ONTPax is a long time contributor to this forum. Not an FA himself, but a guy with an obvious interest in our world. He often posts links to articles that are relevant to ‘The Life & Times of an FA’. ;)
I happen to have seen a bit on CNN about the drunk FA that is the subject of this thread, but ONTPax often links to interesting stuff that I haven’t seen.
For me personally, he brings a bit of much needed variation and interest to the forum.

There’s a thread from from ONTPax which he started when he had only just joined PPRuNe. It was a few weeks after September the 11th. Those of us already flying at the time remember it as a very grim period. Colleagues had died in large numbers. Some of them with slit throats, others flying knowingly into their deaths, helplessly failing in their overriding duty to their pax, knowing that they were failing to secure the safety of the people in their cabins.
All our lives had abruptly changed for the worse in the most shocking fashion.

And then ONTPax started this (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=30106) thread.
I'm still grateful.

"goddess of dawn" why are you getting so uptight about someone telling what has happened on a flight? It is a forum after all. Be a bit more open minded and little less judgmental......

Well said!

Granted she shouldn't have been drunk on the a/c, however there's no harm in telling us about it!:D

I appreciate the kind words! :)

Contrary to what some may think, I don't believe I'm the big, bad boogey man who's trolling around areas where he shouldn't be. Au contraire. Since I have several friends who are flight attendants, and since my sister used to be one, and since I, myself, used to be an airline gate agent, I guess, for some unexplained reason, I've developed a soft spot in my heart for all you trolley dollies. The females just a tad more than the males. :ok: Go figure.

I'm glad you found that post-911 LA TIMES article beneficial. It was an exceptionally good article.

I did not have malicious intent when I posted the thing about the FA with the drinking problem. My first thought, when seeing her in all her glory on the TV news was, "here's another by-product of deregulation and depressed wages." In this world, you get what you pay for. :ugh:

Keep up the good work, Juud, and again, "thank you for your support!" :D Maybe I'll drop you a private email and we can chat some more! :)

Cheers! ONTPax
