The Airtours pension scheme is giving cause for concern among Airtours pilots. A recent estimate stated that after 20 years as an Airtours pilot you will be lucky to have a pension of 25% of your final salary. And considering that the Airtours salary is one of the poorer ones, this is not good news for those concerned.
Are other companies schemes faring any better?

How much goes into it? Is there any annual increase during payment? What is the widows pension?

Don't know, I don't work for them. Just passing on a gripe from one of their pilots.

We are lucky! But the line engineer I had on the jumpseat the other day makes more than the captain and he gets 4 days on, 4 off. I get the legal 9 days off per month and get called out every standby. Maybe we should both re-train as engineers?
