because the aircraft is badly damaged and they weren't seriously hurt.

RJZ? That isn't a Hoxton Park resident is it?
I wonder if this will result in another round of YHOX bashing by the local Federal member, as occured when there was last an accident near the airfield (again involving a non-resident aircraft)?

Why would he bother now? - or is there some 'danger' the place might stay open?

Wheeler - last time she demanded it be shut immediately...
Apparently the aircraft had just been purchased, and was being ferried to YHOX. From what I have heard, they were landing, caught a gust, elected to go around, and stalled off the go around. The ATSB were poking around the wreckage on the weekend, so there may be a report which will shed some light a little later down the track.
Whatever happened, they were very lucky to walk out with only cuts and bruises.

I was operating at the time of the incident and heard the relayed mayday call from the chopper in the circuit.
was a very, very windy and bumpy day.
Good to see they're ok. :)
