Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on what the roster (amoung other things) is like on the A320 fleet for new joiners? In particular (if anyone can answer any of these questions):

1 - Days on/off during an average roster. In addition, how many days can one expect to be away from "home" a month?

2 - How many hours can you expect to fly a month?

3 - Vacation days off a year?

4 - Company travel policy (ie - what is offered to pilots to travel on the QR network/partner airlines), generally speaking.

5 - And perhaps the most important, how are your loved ones coping with living in Doha. Of course this question may vary greatly with each individual, but I'd like to get a feel from the general consensus.

Very hard to find any good information on QR, and most of the information available seems out dated. Thanks very much for any insight! If anyone would prefer, a pm would be fine as well.

It's crap.

Plenty of detail given in many other threads, some unfortunately deleted now.

Are you currently gainfully employed? Unless unemployed, suggest elsewhere.

Thanks for the reply, but care to be a little more specific? Trying to make an informed and education decision, and details are crucial.

A pm would be very much appreciated if anyone prefers to keep their comments private. Thank you!

1: 7..8 days off/month,maybe 1 or 2 out of doha max.As we donīt have that much long layover on A-320.(as far as i remember the 320)

2: 60..75 hours/month

3: vacation 42 days/year can be split in several slots(7 days minimum in a raw).Sometime they cancel your leave without advising you, so you have to go and shout in the office to teach the "backward hypocrite shaking head mafia.." some new words like "consideration" and "respect" of crew and fight to have your due leave back on your roster...

4:ID 90 ticket unlimited but only ONE annual leave ticket(confirmed).

5: well if your have kids at least your wife will have something to do...
I known some pilots who left simply because their family canīt take anymore Doha....And i donīt advise you to leave your family behind, because then you will probably not survive here...But as you said itīs individual..
